Most trip planners give you a list. This one makes decisions: one base rather than a tour of the island, a proper outing every other day rather than every day, and nothing more than a comfortable drive from your bed.
The catalogue is the sixty-odd places we have written about, each with the hours it takes, the entry fee the operator publishes and how well it suits children. The budget uses the same figures as our cost guide and shows every line as a range. Weather is a live forecast when your trip is within sixteen days and the month’s averages otherwise.
Booking links carry your dates and party across to Skyscanner, Google Flights, Booking.com, Airbnb and Kayak so the first price you see is today’s. Some of those links may earn us a commission. It never changes what we recommend.

- How does the Cyprus itinerary planner work?
- You answer seven short questions. The planner scores nine bases against your answers, picks the one that fits, then fills each day from a catalogue of sixty-odd beaches, sites, walks, boats and villages we have written about, keeping day trips within a sensible drive and alternating them with easier days near your base. It then estimates the cost from the prices published across this site and seasonal averages.
- Are the prices real-time?
- Partly. Exchange rates come from the European Central Bank each day, the forecast is live for trips within sixteen days, and every booking link carries your dates so the price you land on is today’s. The budget lines themselves are estimates built from published entry fees, tour prices and seasonal accommodation and car-hire averages. When the site holds an Amadeus key, live flight offers appear as well.
- Can I share or save my plan?
- Yes. Every answer is stored in the page address, so copying the link keeps the whole plan. You can also print it, and come back to change any answer.
- Which airport should I fly into?
- Paphos for the west (Paphos, Coral Bay, Latchi and the Akamas). Larnaca for everything else: Larnaca itself, Ayia Napa and Protaras, Limassol, Nicosia and the Troodos. The planner shows the transfer time for whichever base it recommends, and warns you when a cheap fare into the wrong airport would cost you half a day.
- Do I need a hire car in Cyprus?
- For one base on the coast, no. For the Akamas, the wine villages, Kourion and the Troodos, a car or an organised tour is realistic. Tell the planner you are using buses and it will only schedule places you can actually reach, and swap in tours where they exist.
