Cyprus · Month 06 of 12
Cyprus in
June.
Proper summer arrives — 31°C, sea at 24°C, the long days begin.
The weather, honestly
June is summer without the August edge. Highs of 31°C on the coast (low 30s feels manageable here because of low humidity), sea at 24°C, almost no rain, thirteen hours of sun. Inland villages climb past 35°C by month-end.
What to actually do
The classic beach month if you want warmth without peak crowds. Sea conditions are at their most reliable — Akamas boat trips, the Blue Lagoon, Cape Greco kayaking all start running on full schedules. Kataklysmos, the festival of the Flood, takes over Larnaca's seafront.
Events & festivals
- Kataklysmos — Larnaca (biggest), Paphos, Ayia Napa. Festival of the Flood — Pentecost weekend. Sea-throwing games, music, food stalls along the front.
- Paradox Music Festival — Nicosia. Mid-June. Cyprus's biggest contemporary music event.
Where to go
- Cape Greco coast. Boat trips, sea caves, Konnos Bay — peak conditions, sub-peak crowds.
- Akamas. Hike early morning, swim midday.
- Larnaca for Kataklysmos. A real Cypriot festival, in a real Cypriot setting.
What to pack
- Summer clothes only
- Strong sun cream
- A hat that actually stays on
- Swim shoes for the rocky bays
Practical notes
Everything open, prices climbing. Inland temperatures uncomfortable for daytime sightseeing from mid-June.
