Paphos Airport to Coral Bay: bus, taxi or hire car?

The lowest-cost public-transport route from Paphos Airport to Coral Bay is normally bus 612 to Tombs of the Kings Bus Station, then bus 615 to Coral Bay. It is a sensible daytime option if you can manage one change. For a late landing, a lot of luggage, young children or a door-to-door arrival, a taxi or pre-booked transfer is usually the simpler decision. Hire a car only when it will genuinely improve the rest of your west-coast trip.

This is not the same journey as travelling from Paphos town to Coral Bay. The airport sits south-east of the tourist area, while Coral Bay is north-west of it, so the route matters. By bus: make one deliberate change at Tombs of the Kings

There is no direct Paphos Airport–Coral Bay bus listed by the local operator. Instead, use route 612 from Paphos Airport to Tombs of the Kings Bus Station, then change to route 615 for Coral Bay.

Pafos Buses identifies 612 as the airport route between Tombs of the Kings and Paphos Airport. Its published stop list includes the airport, Geroskipou, the harbour-side area and Tombs of the Kings. The same operator identifies 615 as the service from Tombs of the Kings to Coral Bay, via the coastal road through Chloraka and Kissonerga. It is a logical connection because the 615 starts at the station where the 612 terminates.

What to do after landing

1. After baggage reclaim, check the official 612 timetable against the time you can realistically reach the stop.
2. Travel to Tombs of the Kings Bus Station; do not get off at a stop that merely sounds close to your hotel unless you have checked the map.
3. At the station, check the live 615 information and take the Coral Bay-bound service.
4. Keep your hotel’s pin and the return plan saved offline. A Coral Bay resort, beach-front hotel and Peyia address can require different final walks or a taxi.

The operator currently publishes 612 departures from the airport every day, including later services. Route 615 has different school-period, summer, weekend and night patterns. In the June-to-August daytime schedule, 615 is generally shown every 10–15 minutes for much of the day; the night service has its own timetable. Those details can change, so use them to understand the shape of the journey, not as a substitute for the live page.

Tickets: read the transfer rule, not just the headline fare

Pafos Buses lists a standard €2.00 one-way district ticket before 21:00, a €3.00 night ticket and a €6.50 daily ticket. It says the one-way and daily paper tickets can be bought on the bus. The important limitation for airport arrivals is that a one-way paper ticket does not allow transfers.

That means two buses may mean two single tickets. The operator’s ticket page also describes smart-card options with transfer allowances, but those are not automatically the simplest answer for a short-stay visitor arriving with bags. Check the terms that apply on the day and ask the driver when in doubt; do not assume a connection is free because the route looks continuous on a map.

Picking up a car at Paphos Airport is attractive because it appears to solve the transfer and the rest of the holiday in one move. It does — but only if you are going to use it. For a Coral Bay stay built around the beach, restaurants and a few Paphos days, the car may spend more time parked than travelling.
